Future Simple Tense. Простое будущее время






I will (shall) work. Will (Shall) I work? Yes, I will (shall). No, I won’t (shan’t). I will not (shall not) work.
Не willwork. Willhe work? Yes, he will. No, he won’t. He will not work.
She will work. Willshe work? Yes, she will. No, she won’t. She will not work.
It will work. Willit work? Yes, it will. No, it won’t. It will not work.
We will (shall) work. Will (Shall) we work? Yes, we will (shall). No, we won’t (shan’t). We will not (shall not) work.
You will work. Will you work? Yes, you will. No, you won’t. You will not work.
They willwork. Willthey work? Yes, they will. No, they won’t. They will not work.
Future Simple используется для выражения действия или нескольких повторяющихся действий, которые будут совершаться в будущем. Future Simple используется с указателями tomorrow(завтра), next year(в следующем году), next week(на следующей неделе), in a week(через неделю), in the future(в будущем) и т.д.
Образование повествовательных предложений в Future Simple: подлежащее + вспомогательные глаголы shall /will +сказуемое в форме инфинитива без частицы to. Эта видовременная форма образуется с помощью вспомогательных глаголов будущего времени shallилиwill. Shallприменяется с местоимениями 1-го лица (I, we). Willприменяется со всеми местоимениями и подлежащими. Сегодня можно рекомендовать применение willво всех случаях, так как форма shallдля образования будущего времени применяется очень редко. Оба вспомогательных глагола могут применяться в сокращённом виде. I shall= I’ll; He will = He’ll I’ll go to the club tomorrow. – Я пойду завтра в клуб. They will work in 10 minutes. – Они будут работать через 10 минут.
Вопросительные предложения образуются с помощью вспомогательных глаголов shall /will. Порядок слов в специальном вопросе: вопросительное слово + shall /will +подлежащее + сказуемое +? Where will he work? – Где он будет работать? Will you read it? – Вы будете читать это?
Образование отрицательных предложений происходит с помощью тех же вспомогательных глаголов. После вспомогательного глагола ставится частица not. He will not (won’t) read it. – Он не будет читать это. Обратите внимание на редуцированные (сокращённые) формы вспомогательных глаголов с частицей not: will not = won’t; shall not = shan’t.

 

Ex. 2. Agree and promise to do things:

 

Model: – Can you clean the windows?

—Sure, I’ll clean them this afternoon.

—Do you promise?

—Yes, I promise. I’ll clean them this afternoon.

 

1. Can you phone me later? – Sure,... tonight. – Do you promise? – Yes,.... 2. Can you repair the clock? – O’K, … tomorrow. 3. Please, don’t tell anyone. – All right, …. 4. Please, don’t hurt me. – Don’t worry, …. 5. Can you photo-copy this book for me? – Sure,... tomorrow. 6. Can type this article for me? – Sure,... today.

 

Ex. 3. Answer the questions:

 

Model: – What are you going to do tomorrow? (go to country)

– I’ll probably go to the country.

 

1. Where is John going to spend his summer holidays? (go to the mountains) 2. What are you going to do? (phone him) 3. What are your plans for tomorrow morning? (go shopping) 4. What is your sister going to do tomorrow evening? (play basketball) 5. What is she going to do? (send a telegram) 6. Do you think they’ll come on time? (be late) 7. What are уou doing this weekend? (visit our friends)

 

Ex. 4. Read the situations. Respond to these situations. Begin the sentences with I think I’ll... or I don’t think I’ll:

 

Model: It’s cold. You decide to close the window.

– I think I’ll close the window.

 

1. You feel tired. You decide to go to bed. I... 2. A friend of yours offers to give you a lift in his car but you decide to walk. Thank you but... 3. You arrange to play tennis. Then you decide you don’t want to play. 4. You are going to go shopping. Then you decide that you don’t want to go. 5. You are going to buy a car. Then you decide that you don’t want to. 6. A friend of yours invites you to the theatre but you decide to go to the library.

 

Ex. 5. Answer the questions. Use the prompts:

 

Model: – When do you think he’ll arrive? (expect/tonight)

– I expect he’ll arrive tonight.

(expect/by train) 5. When do you think she’ll be back? (think/quite/soon) 6. Who do you think will win? (I’m sure/Mike) 7. Where do you think he will stay? (probably/at his brother’s)

 

Ex. 6. Make up short dialogues using the prompts:

 

Model 1: – I wonder if Harry will buy that car.

– I expect (think) so.
