Text Q “Veterinary faculty”

I study at the Tyumen State Agricultural Academy. It was founded in 1959 as an Agricultural Institute. It got the title of the Academy on 3rd April, 1995.

Our Academy has four Institutes: Agro-Technology, Mechanical-Technology, Institute of Economy and Finance and the Institute of Biotechnology and Veterinary Medicine.

I am a second-year student of Veterinary faculty of the Institute of Biotechnology and Veterinary Medicine. Our Institute was founded in 2007. It is the youngest Institute at our Academy. Nowadays there are three faculties at the Institute of Biotechnology and Veterinary Medicine. They are Zooengineering, Veterinary and Water bioresources and Aquaculture faculty. Our Institute has a highly qualified teaching staff.

Veterinary faculty was established in 1992. Our faculty trains veterinary doctors.

We study many subjects, which are interesting and necessary for our future speciality. They are anatomy of animals, genetics, biochemistry, microbiology, histology, physiology of animals, history of veterinary science, English and many others. All these subjects help us to become qualified specialists.

We can learn skills, which fit us for a better career in future. An educated person contributes more to the society and education gives a person the prospect for professional advance.

At the Anatomy chair, we study the conformation of farm animals, the skeletal system, the circulatory system, the nervous system and others. We study it by means of tables, preparations and models.

A veterinary doctor must be a good organizer of different preventive and curative measures carried out in animal husbandry. His tasks are to prevent diseases, to make necessary inoculations, to examine the farm animals so as to establish a diagnosis and to treat animals to have healthy livestock population.

While studying the students of our faculty have their practical work on the experimental training farm and at different veterinary clinics of our region. Actually, they are taught taking care of animals and treating them there. A veterinary doctor has a chance to use his deep knowledge working at different veterinary clinics of our region.

On graduating from the Academy, I’ll receive a diploma of a veterinary doctor.

My future speciality is difficult but at the same time interesting and important. I think I like my future speciality.

One of the main tasks of the specialist is to improve the productivity of ponds based on new methods and technologies and preserve environmental equilibrium of aqua ecology system.

While studying the students of our faculty have their practical work on the experimental training farm and at different fish breeding enterprises of our region.

On graduating from the Academy, I’ll receive a diploma of an ichthyologist-fish breeder.
