The Television SeriesThe language spoken in the Tweenies is more developed than some of the younger pre-school programmes. The stories are more complex, and the spoken language 'drives' them. The language in the Tweenies is structured to allow children to engage with, and better understand, their feelings and motivations. Tweenies is set in a Playschool manner and deals with dilemmas, challenges and issues common to very young children, such as squabbling with friends, or not owning up. Story lines provide a non-threatening context within which such issues can be discussed and resolved simply. These characters move like real children; they laugh at the same things they do; sing the same songs; play the same games and see the world in the same way. The characters are well developed and children are able to predict what their responses might be. The mixture of story, song and creative activity provides excellent opportunities for children to learn through play. Music plays an important part in the programme and children are encouraged to join in with songs and actions. There are several opportunities for follow-up materials and resources to enhance the programme's potential, such as stories and activities contained in Tweenies and Toybox Teach Me magazine. The All-New Scooby and Scrappy-Doo Show Show Category: Animation, Children This series was created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbara in September of 1983. The show stars include Scooby, Shaggy, Scrappy, and Daphne. This was the first Scooby series to not feature Fred or Velma as show stars. Scooby and Shaggy still solved mysteries with Scooby's little nephew. Scrappy-Doo is Scooby's fearless puppy nephew. It's like the old Scooby and Scrappy shows, only they travel with their dear friend Daphne. Scooby Doo Related Series: Scooby-Doo, Where Are You? - This was the first installment of the Scooby-Doo series which began in 1969 until 1970. The New Scooby-Doo Movies - The second installment was set up in a 1 hour format starring guest celebrities. This series went from 1972 to 1973. The Scooby-Doo/Dynomutt Hour - The third installment was a very short lived series combining a half hour with both Scooby and Dynomutt shows. This series lasted only the later months of 1976. Scooby and Scrappy Doo - The forth installment is one of the longest running Scooby Doo series lasting for 5 years. Scooby's nephew Scrappy is introduced with all the gang in the 30 minute format solving mysteries. This series went from 1979 to 1984. After this series the All-New Scooby & Scrappy Doo Show replaced it and only lasted 1 season. The New Scooby-Doo Mysteries - This sixth series is a continuation of the All New Scooby & Scrappy Doo Show. Along with the 1983 series this one also did not star Velma or Fred. This one lasted 13 episodes in 1984. 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo - This seventh installment featured Scooby, Shaggy, Scrappy, Daphne without Velma or Fred. Also added to the cast was Vincent Van Ghoul and Flim Flam. This series only lasted 13 episodes in 1985. A Pup Named Scooby-Doo - This eighth installment brought back Shaggy, Scooby, Daphne, Velma, and Fred together again except this time they are kids. This series lasted a while longer than some of its past installments going for 3 seasons from 1988 to 1991. What's New Scooby-Doo? - 10 years later brings the ninth installment of the Scooby series. This time the creators reincarnate the original Scooby gang from 1969 with a few new 21 century twists. This series started in 2002 and is still on at this time.
