Course description/overview

Graduate Foundation English C is a beginner to elementary course for newly enrolled masterХs students. By the end of the course students should satisfy the criteria for Level A1 on the Common European Framework. In addition to developing proficiency with reading, writing, listening and speaking, this course develops the use of English in the business and management fields. The course will highlight the English they will need in their majors at KIMEP, in the workplace and for general financial life. Study skills suited to university work are given special attention. With a pass mark in this course, students enroll in ENG 5104 Graduate Foundation English B.

This course targets:

б Establishing a base of vocabulary that can be used to form grammatically accurate structures of statements and questions

б Developing interactive competence in speaking and writing, using polite conventions
