Computers in teenagers’ life
Computer studies is a subject in many schools. Many young people have personal computers. All of them spend a lot of their free time on home computers. About one in three hundred computer owners, so called computer addicts, spend all their time using computers. A survey in a school showed that fewer girls than boys are interested in computers. Young computer addicts develop programs and love learning programming languages. They communicate with other users through the network, make friends and create their own sites. Some other teenagers spend their time “hacking” or play computer games. Many teenagers use an electronic mail to send messages to their friends and to chat with them. Unfortunately, sitting in front of the computer screen for hours is very harmful for health. Isn’t it better to spend most of the free time outdoors? For most children computer games are a craze. It provides harmless fun and a chance to escape from reality. Parents worry about computer games because they think their children won’t be able to communicate with real people in the real world. But on the other hand, if we didn’t have these computer addicts, we wouldn’t have modern technology. They are the inventors of tomorrow.
