July 7, 2014 SECOND QUARTER 2014 MALI MISSION UPDATE Beloved Burden Bearer, To God alone be the glory for His love, grace and mercy. His steadfast love never ceases, His mercy never come to an end. Really they are new every moment; great indeed is the faithfulness of our God of Missions. A group picture of participants The process towards the consolidation of our Mission Work in Mali to become a recognized Church Body (Denomination) to be known as “ The Malian Baptist Church (of the Nigerian Baptist Mission)” took a positive leap forward during the quarter under review. A total of 19 representatives from all our current 8 Churches/Preaching Stations gathered together at Dioila on Saturday June 21, 2014 at a meeting convened by us (Missionary Ladi & Fanta Oyelude) to put head together on the way forward. The house agreed on the need for this move. This will enable all the Mission Churches to come together, qualify them to apply for the Government registration/recognition as well as apply for membership of AGEMPEM, the larger “Body of Christ” in Mali. A Pilot Committee of seven (7) persons was elected to develop the Status, Statements of Faith and Practice, Constitution and Bye Laws for the Church based on the one for Nigerian Baptist Convention and other Evangelical Churches in Mali. The committee is to work and report back at another gathering to be held towards the end of this year God willing.
