I’m loving it McDonald’s is the leading global food service retailer with more than 30,000 local restaurants serving nearly 50 million people in more than 119 countries each day. Without any exaggeration, it’s considered to be one of the world’s most well-known and valuable brands holding a leading share in the globally branded quick service restaurant segment of the informal eating-out market in virtually every country. They serve the world some of its favourite foods – world famous French Fries, Big Mac, Chicken McNuggets. The company is a franchising company and relies on its franchisees, their owners, to play a major role in the System’s success. McDonald’s remains committed to franchising as a predominant way of doing business. The business continues to be recognized as a premier franchising company around the world. In the 1940s brothers Dick and Mac McDonald developed a new concept based on three main principles: quick service, low price and big production volumes. By the midst of 1950s McDonald’s food plant producing hamburgers brought in annual revenues of $350,000. Neil Fox, owner of a drive-in restaurant in Phoenix, Arizona, was the first franchisee. Red and white building with a slanted roof and golden, neon arch became a symbol of McDonald’s industry. The mission of the company today is to meet customers’ needs. A formula for that is Quality, Better Service, Cleanliness and Cost Effective Policy or Value. Better quality provides clients with the food, made of the best ingredients according to high standards. Quick and friendly service has always been the basis for a success and McDonald’s does its best to improve service methods by encouraging staff with all possible benefits and career promotion. McDonald’s has special training centres to implement this policy. Cleanliness is what helps the company to stand out. At present, lots of restaurants monitor the nearby area to keep it clean and support local environment campaigns. Cost effective policy or Value is not just low costs but also a general impression the customers get for the money spent in any McDonald’s restaurant.
