Definition and background information
Synectics is a creative problem solving method, one of several techniques used to enhance brainstorming by taking a more active role and introducing metaphor and structure into the process. It is a method of identifying and solving problems that depends on creative thinking, the use of analogy, and informal conversation among a small group of individuals with diverse experience and expertise.
