Pets in Great Britain
Lots of families in Great Britain have got one or more pets. Dogs are the favorite pets and there are about 6 million of them in Britain. The second favorite are cats (about 5 million) and the third favorite is a bird-budgie. Some families do not keep cats or dogs. They keep other animals as pets in their homes. There are more than 12 million pets in Britain. The English take good care of their pets. They give them nice names: Rex, Misty, Chatterbox, Tom, and Polly. When they speak about their pets they say “He” or “She” (not “It”). The English give their pets nice food to eat. They buy food for their pets in pet shops. The English are pet lovers.

Read the text and write a story about your pet: My pet - People keep many animals as pet: dogs, cats, rats, hamsters, guinea, pigs, parrots. - Some people like exotic animals such as: crocodiles, snakes, monkeys and keep them at home too. - I have got a pet too. - It is a dog (cat …). - His (her) name is Chapik (Masik). - He (she) is big (small),fat (thin) and very funny. - His (her) hair is black-and-white (gray, brown …) and fluffy. - He (she) has got big (small)ears eyes and short (long) tail. - Chapic (Masik) is a very clever dog (cat). - He (she) likes to run, to sleep in a warm place at home. - His (her) favorite food is meet (milk…). - I always treat my pet with love. - I take care of my dog (cat), take him (her) for a walk, feed him (her), Talk to him (her) and play with him (her). - I never hurt my pet. - I’m always kind to Chapik (Masik …) because he (she) is friendly and loves me. - I think it’s fun to have a pet.
