Will I be able to get a job after law school?
Despite reports of a so-called “lawyer glut” and despite the role that class rank plays in the job prospects for law graduates. Texas graduates continue to fare well in the job market. Over 98% of our graduates are employed within one year after graduation. Over 92% of our students have obtained permanent job offers before graduation.
Will I be able to practice law in other states if I attend The University of Texas School of Law? Although 15% of our students are nonresidents over the last few years about one-fourth of each graduating class has accepted employment outside the state of Texas. Many more students who have received such offers have chosen to stay in Texas. Each year some 238 employers from other states come to the Law School to recruit.
Does Texas specialize in any area of the law? The Law School offers a broad range of course offerings in almost every recognized area of the law, without overemphasizing or de-emphasizing any of them.
