Nowadays travelling has become a well organized business. We can travel by car, by train, by bus, by ship, by airplane, by bicycle or on foot. Many people are fond of camping and hiking. You can even travel in mind, and then you needn’t suffer from standing in long lines to buy tickets, you won’t feel uncomfortable in overcrowded transport and you can travel to the remotest places of the world on one and the same day! Of course, every kind of travelling has its advantages and disadvantages. For example, if you need to get to some place very quickly, you should travel by plane. But it is too expensive now, and in planes you can see only clouds through the window. Cycling or traveling by car is good because you can stop whenever and wherever you want. You can enjoy the sights and fresh air. You needn’t keep any time-table or buy tickets at the booking-office. Travelling by train is comfortable and reliable. There are many luxurious express trains with sleeping cars which can go very fast. But sometimes it is expensive and noisy. Travelling by ship is very exciting. Many people like sea voyages. Usually you get a lot of impressions, enjoy fresh air and beautiful sight of the sea, but some people feel sea-sick. Travelling is pleasant at all seasons. You usually meet new people, new places, get a lot of good impressions. Besides, it is instructive because while travelling you can learn a lot about history, culture, traditions, famous people of different lands. They say it’s better to see once than to hear many times. Another proverb is “There is no place like home”, so it’s natural that after a long journey we always miss home and want to return to our native town, family and friends.
