Who taught you to read? 4) Is reading your hobby or a necessity? 5) Can you live a day without reading? 6) Would you rather have a big library at home or borrow books from the library? 7) Do you ever lend books to your friends? 8) Can you tell what books you have on your bookshelves at home? Do you have more fiction or non-fiction? 9) How often do you use dictionaries and encyclopedias? 10) Your school library is probably not a very interesting place. What could be done to make it more interesting and useful? 11) What are your favourite kinds of books? 12) Do you have favourite books or writers? 13) What was the last book you read? Why did you decide to read it? Did you like it? Will you recommend it to your friends or parents? 14) Do you think books influence people in some way? Why? 15) Do you prefer to read a book first and then see a filmed version or, see it first and then read? 16) Do you ever reread books or do you think it’s a waste of time? 17) If you like to reread books, what makes you do so? 18) If you have read an interesting book, do you want to share your impressions with somebody or do you like to keep them to yourself? 19) Some science fiction writers say that in the future books will be replaced by the computer. What is your opinion about this?
9. Read and translate. Remember these rules! 1. Books are our best friends. 2. Books are our teachers and friends. 3. Choose an author as you choose a friend. 4. Never eat while reading. 5. You must not read in bed. 6. Wash your hands before reading. 7. Do not tear pages of the book. 8. Don’t make marks on the pages with a pen or a pencil. 9. Don’t make drawings in the book. 10. Don’t make dog’s ears in the books. 11. Do not lose your book. It means that you lose your friend. 12. A room without a book is like a body without soul. 13. Treat books with care as good friends. 14. Don’t turn a book upon its clear face.
