Machine-building industry in Berdychiv is represented by the Open Joint-Stock Company “Berdychiv Machine-Building Plant “Progress” and the Open Joint-Stock Company “Bevers”.
The Open Joint-Stock Company “Berdychiv Machine-Building Plant “Progress” was founded in 1880. It has arisen from production of the simplest frame filter presses. Nowadays the Plant produces filtering, drying, capacitance, heat-exchanging equipment, equipment for industrial and domestic waste waters purification. Factory products find wide application in food, chemical, metallurgical, mining, oil-and-gas, hydrometallurgical, aniline-dye-stuff, ceramic and other industries. Machine-building plant “Progress” can manufacture any non-standard equipment upon technical documentation and requirements of the customer. In 2000 the factory quality system had been certified in accordance with the requirements of the international standards ISO 9001.94. “Progress” is a permanent participant of prestigious international exhibitions, and has received a number of awards. More than half of the manufactured products were exported to Russia and CIS countries, USA, Germany, Israel, China, Iran, Turkey, India, countries of Eastern Europe.
An industrial enterprise JSC “Bevers” began to function even before 1917. It was a small plant, which produced beds and nails. In 1929-1931 a transmission plant was established on its base. In 1932 the plant was called “Komsomolets”. In that period the plant developed manufacture of pipeline-stop armature. Since 1980 the plant began to produce a new range of turret lathes including automated machines model 1G340P, CNC machines model 1B340F30 and robotized devices on their base. In 1984 the plant began to produce multi-operational turret lathes model 1P420PF40. Those machines besides turning could implement drilling and milling finishing of a workpiece at one setting in the chuck. In 2003 all the equipment range was fully modernized in collaboration with Special Design Bureau of the Ryazan Machine Tool Plant.
