Ethics
Learning begins when we face up to what we do not know and cannot yet do. We then work out how to gain the knowledge and skills that are missing. If we take short-cuts, cheat, or steal the ideas or words of others (without proper acknowledgement), then only one person suffers: the one who has cheated. It is in your own interests not to do this. Plagiarism is a serious offence and the institution’s rules will be applied to anyone who is caught.
Active participation implies:
- Contribution to class activities with comments, expressing opinions, asking questions and brainstorming ideas
- Volunteering to participate in classroom assignments
- Being initiative and interested in classroom activities
- Listening and responding to other group members
