Biophysics is one of the fundamental biological disciplines which on the basic of productive fusion of three sciences – physics, chemistry and biology gives the opportunity to understand the basics of life processes. Knowledge of the laws of biophysics gives the opportunity to work out the new methods of scientific research and analysis. Nowadays a lot of biophysical methods are widely used for ascertainment of the acting mechanism of external and internal factors of environment including factors of physical, chemical, technogenic nature, action of toxic agents on the human body. The maximal effectiveness of the usage of different technical means in medical and biological researches can be reached only in case when the researcher knows physical basics of the work of a device. The program is also directed to the forming in students of scientific knowledge and practical skills by the questions of the applying of modern medical technique. Purpose of the discipline: Forming of scientific world view and scientific methodology as the theoretical base of medical and biological, sanitary and hygienic researches. Tasks of teaching: · to determine practically important achievements of biophysics for the solving the problems of medical and biological researches; · to demonstrate the knowledge of the basics of biophysical methods that are used in medical and biological, hygienic and epidemiological researches; · to use physical and chemical laws for the explanation of the processes that occur in the human body. Final results of the teaching Forming of cognitive component (knowledge): · physical and chemical features of the structure of membrane structures and mechanisms of their functioning; · biophysical mechanisms of the transport of substances through the membrane, mechanisms of electrogenesis; · physical peculiarities of interaction of the light with biological structures; · biophysical regularities of the work of cardiovascular, muscular and respiratory systems; · basics of metrological providing of researches; · main groups of medical devices and apparatuses that are used for the research of biological systems. Forming of practical skills: - fulfillment and checking of the results of laboratory works, seminars, solving of situational problems that are applied in different biophysical researches: microscoping of biological objects, technical devices of medical introscopy, photoelectric colorimetry. · to conduct the registration of electroencephalography (EEG), rheography, electrocardiography (ECG) in standard leads; · to conduct the registration of physical parameters, to process the results of measurements with usage of calculating means; · to measure the concentration of substances with usage of photometric devices. Forming of communicative skills: Developing of the communicative skills at the explanation of processes that occur in human body. Correct explanation of special (professional) terms, concepts in an accessible form at the implementation and analyzing of the results of ECG, application of electrodes, determination of the belt speed. Checking of the results by analysis of ECG. Legal competence: Forming of legal competence: knowing and mastering of the rules of safety engineering, observance of safety engineering at working with devices, apparatuses and rules of hygiene at the working with pneumograph, spirometer and etc. Competencies of continuous teaching and self-education: Forming of skills toward students’ independent work. Acquiring of scientific and research skills. Ability to do corresponding conclusions independently according to given subjects. Prerequisites of the discipline – basic knowledge in physics, biology, chemistry, mathematics. Postrequisites of the discipline – physiology, molecular biology and genetics, biochemistry, pathological physiology, profile disciplines.
