| Through out the centuries books had an enormous influence on the minds and hearts of people. Books bind together ages, personalities. The book is the surest way to bring nations together. It helps people achieve understanding, trust, cooperation and friendship
Thanks to books we able to express our thoughts and feelings more exactly. We can talk to people who lived in different countries and ages. Through reading books we hear their voices, thoughts and feelings. Some people developed much time to reading books and reading becomes their free time occupation, their passion. They teach the readers to be truthful, friendly, honest decisive, conscientious, frank, firm, fair and serious.
The book is faithful and understanding friend. It can be put aside and taken up again at any moment. We can distinguish books between three classes of them.

| | Firstly, books on different branches of knowledge, works by brilliant minds of mankind. Secondly, textbooks, reference books and numerous dictionaries. And at last, books of all kinds and genres to read at leisure.
Classics should be taken a little at a time. One's understanding of books by Tolstoy and Dostoyevsky, Mopassan, Balzak and a great Kazakh writer M.Auezov depends on one's age and experience.
Mukhtar Auezov a world renowned writer, unique literary critic, eminent historian and serious Turkic linguist, was the person of many-sided and large-scaled talent. Auezov’s work “The path of Abai” gave birth to Kazakh literature. He started his career of a writer with dramas written at the age of 20 and finished it with great novel “The path of Abai” and this novel is unique for the Kazakh literature. Probably, Auezov was the only who could comprise the whole Orient in his writing with all traditions, customs, steppe colors, love of life and nation. As an old saying goes, man cannot live on bread alone. Books are the source of knowledge and the means of self — perfection. Sometimes it is difficult to solve some problems in life. I think that books can help us. Books must be our friends during all our life.
