People use the term ‘computer’. It describes a device that is made of electronic and electromechanical components. Computer has no intelligence and we call it ‘hardware’. A computer system is a combination of five elements: hardware, software, people, procedures and data/information. When one computer system communicates with another computer system, connectivity becomes the sixth system element. The term software describes the instructions that tell the hardware how to perform a task. People are also an important component of the computer system: they create the computer software instructions and respond to the procedures. The basic job of the computer is to process information. We use a computer to convert data into information and to store it in the digital form. Computers get deep and deep into our life.
